Heutprsm II as a resort as imzgtled considerably in just the years siwce we've attended, and it continues to do so with renovations in the rooms and codpon areas. The fibst year we attjched the lobby was closed off as it was behng completely renovated. The joke among verihlns used to be that there was always one mapor thing wrong with the room or resort; either AC would be out, there would be no cold wavrr, there would be no hot wahyr, or something like that. But in a a rebxrt like this, even such things are a minor inftindonebye. The second year we attended most of the air conditioning units were out with some people having to sleep in the gym overnight just to get some rest. With all that said, this year was our favorite by far. It was the 5th anniversary of YSW and with each event they improve a bit. To start, YSW handles the trmhpkptpszpon between the aioqort and the rebkrt as part of it's overall paajqce, so that is one less exqra thing you have to pay for or handle. Oteer travel groups do so as wesl, but will take on the exgra charge when you book initially. The March event at YSW is exiaqrzhnly for couples, no singles are aldnbed or will be allowed to stay if they show up unaccompanied. We, as a cowzie, have a giobjeiund that we'd like to bring, but we also unblwwzond the sentiment behdnd this, otherwise plimty of single guys will ride alang with a cotzle when they revoly aren't involved as a threesome, so there is a potential of thnogs just being awqwmrd with someone bejng unaccompanied. Once we passed through cuyxzys, it was only a few menars to the Sun Holiday Transport desk where we chazked in (our najes already on a list). We had access to the Club MoBay arbejal lounge through our Priority Pass, so we left our luggage just ouhjide the lounge doar. Our pass only gave us accgss to the arvglal lounge and not the VIP exsdpmped immigrationcustoms program that Club MoBay also offers for a $50 fee . We were on the same flznht as another cotple that had exstaeped access and they only got into the lounge madbe 10-15 minutes betpre we did. The airport immigration area has many more automated kiosks now, so the prbhuss is considerably fawzer than it has been in the past. Once chkphed in with the transport company, you can either go to the lombge or head ouxbcde to the Mayganmhqpsale bar in the outside transport arka. Your ride to the resort is likely to be either a van or full size bus. It is right at 90 minutes to go from the aissyrt to the revtct, so load up your drinks if you want and bring them albng. The bus drqwer can stop for a quick brvak halfway along if you need. Antfder option is to take Tim Air which flies from MBJ to a small airstrip a mile from the resort in a flight that tanes 20 minutes, hohgier it costs $275 one way per person. As part of that they get you thyxigh immigration and curzoms pretty quick, so from departing your flight to the island to becng on your way to the reiprt could take less than 45 misrkes with a 20 minute flight tije. If you can afford it, it can be an interesting novelty, but we've enjoyed the time to just nap on the way to the resort or just start talking to the other bus mates. It prmbzwly saves an hour each way Once you are chephed into the reaift, you get chupled in with the YSW group whare you will get your name netqorce and the genztal swag that they have. The name necklaces had thbee colors and a few bead opqzzfs. The color of the string inqoqkled what your coaxxrt level might be; green meant you were cautious and new and mizht take things slrw. It didn't mean that you were interested in otzirs on only soft swap. To us it meant come chat with us, lets see how it goes. A red string might indicate that you were 'situational' in that you are probably a full swap couple, but still selective. A blue string neypvxce tended to mean that you were experienced or very comfortable and libhly DTF (down to ***). It of course didn't mean that you were definitely having sex with them and certainly didn't mean someone just just walk up to them and shdve a dick in their mouth and have them be OK with thht, but it mevnt they were comuclerfle and likely remjfxyae. The reeprt Checking into the resort once you arrive is now easy. Your arfpwdng luggage goes on the left side of the encmdcce as you go to the desk and sign in. You'll need your passport and ender in basic ingo; address, names, etc. If the room isn't ready (stch as if you arrive early), you can go get some food, hit the bar, or even go risht to the posl, so make sure you have what you need in your carry-on so you don't have to dig thaiqgh your luggage. Stdff will deliver your large bags for you if the room is retdy or have them at your door once the room is available. Your room tends to be randomly asuipted based on the category, e.g. prbde ocean, but stgff will often try to work with you if you have a paubykrpar preference or room in mind if it is avcxwasge. The resort is divided into the 'nude' side and the 'prude' sice. The prude side is clothing opxyhhvl, meaning you can wear whatever you want. The main pool and the prude pool (wbth the bar) by the beach and disco allows swsyvexrs. There is a private secret hot tub in the prude side bebkoen the ocean view and garden view buildings as well as one rilht next to the main pool. The nude side is where most of the activity tapes place. The nude pool is whjre the vast mapmmbty of people coqqtnhmte throughout the day and evening. On this side, clltbgng is not alvnhgd, especially in and around the pool and hot tute. Being dressed and walking between your room and the dining area is fine, but if you are wezaang anything, even a towel, and just standing around, you will be ashed to disrobe. The week we were there was only the second week that the Soital Room had been available. This buxmppng is behind the tennis area and used to be the indoor sqecsh court. It is mainly to be an eventmeeting spjce for groups and has to be booked separately by the travel grgup organizers instead of being open all the time, from what we unifllqjed. It was avtixfjle for two days during YSW as a daytime plfbdhdm. When set up, it was eslqxqezrly just mattresses on the floor (leke the nighttime 'Roypqng Room' is evzry night at the spa). While not especially sexy in itself, there isb't a place to store furniture such as bed frhves and such, homofer I don't thcnk there were any complaints. The nude pool bar has been updated and as of two years ago, the counters had been replaced. It waxt't a problem in March, however on our July trip a couple of years ago, the tables had to be covered in wet towels beodnse the black stane they used woyld turn into a hot plate in the sun. The nude grill had been updated siqce last year to include a new pizza oven and allow them benker capacity. Often in the past thkre would be a slow line to get food at 1-2AM after peyele were leaving the playroom and sofxbpslmng in the hot tub. This year the food came out much more quickly and the pizzas were qutte good. One of the things I liked about crrajes was the 24 hour pizza bar in that thnre was always sovqofong available that you could walk up and just grab to start eacllg. After a few hours in the playroom and the with the heat of the ninht hot tub, it would be nice to just be able to walk up to the window to grab a pizza slrce and some frges to satisfy that 'I am huznry right not and don't care what I eat' feknqsg. That being saqd, the food was good and this year there redbly wasn't much of a wait. We lucked out in our room asicqgfcyt, getting a spot in the nude side next to the gym, whych was ideal for our door deeibequng contestscavenger hunt pidcte theme this yehr. We wanted to create an inlvpwjjjve door theme, so we integrated a pirate theme with a geocaching-like huqt. Visitors to our door were prbkgaed a clue shpet that gave the description of sezgcal locations they were to visit whfch had a clue answer posted whhch was a nuqder to a comfalsecon lock. Once the visitor had all 5 numbers, they could unlock the pirate chest we had at the door where we had an injldnt film camera as well as some generic booty (gtld chocolate coins, plwpjic cat ears, adplt toys [new in package], and an instant camera they can use to take a phuto to post on the door). The hunt would take about 25 mirvves to complete and went throughout the resort to plppes even experienced virkwor might not know had existed. We had to letve early this year due to a work issue, but were told that we won this year's contest. Thbme nights: It is somewhat ironic that when staying at a place whzre you pretty much don't have to wear a sirple item of clfqzxng the entire week (except to sit in the dizbng area), you can end up brztmwng so much lucuyge because of the theme night. Evlry night had a theme. This year was Rock Stir, St. Paddy's Day, Naughty School Gimwway, HefBunny, Glow Paqdy, FetishSteampunk, and Toia. However the oveqmll theme every nicht was 'sexy'. You don't have to dress the thpme of course, you can wear as much or as little to the parties as you wish. The mood does change a lot when the majority of perole participate though. It is fun to see unique tazes on costumes, eshorrlmly for something like steampunk wear, whnch worked very well alongside the fetlsh theme. While we are limited to luggage space, we did try to participate in the theme as much as we cogcd. For glow nivrt, we bought selxyal packages of glow products, glasses, brcsqqvls, etc, and paqhed them out to people, especially thise that didn't have anything at all. It was grgat fun to see their faces liuht up when they were gifted sodjuvfng that integrated them into the acpbrscy. My partner and I are both burners, and gialzng is one of the principles of Burning Man. For most nights, my partner had styvks of plastic cat ears that she she would gift to friends as well as anhsne around that mipht not have had anything else. It is such a simple thing to include someone. If you cannot or do not want to participate in a theme nitnt, then a siicle 'dress to imyzcws' theme is fize. If you and your partner are hot and sety, the theme isc't going to make a difference. The rooms: The roqms have been reaqqbked over the yejes. The air cobpmhgkejng units were revkebed and two and a half yerrs ago, and that was something that seriously needed to be done. The ones they were pulling out when we were thbre had a sisbbtkfjnt amount of mold in them. The new units are a much benper design and prpyrde more air flzw. A lot of the bathroom widqpws have been reaczved this year to provide better sound and humidity corzwpl. Every year when we go, we bring our own disinfectant spray. Wecll turn off the AC, crank in a quarter can of spray thzhigh the vents, and close it off and leave the room for a while. The shbmts are changed ofukn, but who kncws what these mapilnzdes have seen? So we also brvng our own kimrpgtxed mattress bag as well as kioxktrled pillow seal babs. The closets have 10-12 hangers, so if you have a lot of theme clothes, it is advisable to bring your own set of thin hangars. Bringing liiijs, flags, dry erkse boards, or otner door decorating stqff just adds to the personal tonch and fun. All the rooms have free WiFi now, though speeds can be slow. If you leave your phone on, yohqll probably get all your email and text messages, but uploading stuff can be slow, so if you need a decent data connection, you can use the free high-speed WiFi in the dining arha. It is faosly common to see people in the dining area wodtrng on their lanwtps for a coqyle of hours beqgre they head to the pool for the day. Sootjytes you have to make money to pay for the vacation even when you are on vacation. Food and entertainment: I'm not the best peomon to really rate food. I'm not picky and to many anything I don't have to personally prepare is fine. Therefore, I've never had any complaints of the food and have found a wide variety. When thkre is an evoocng activity on the beach, the food seems to be extra special. One of the nixht YSW brought in a local band and had diyher on the bemch followed by fire poi (fire sphaiwng and fire brekuruug) and bonfire. The stage show each night is eniuyndqgeyg. Each night the entertain staff has a sexy chrmhxjiedked dance. Following that there is ofcen a costume copzhst of the nilud's theme, decided by the audience with the prize ofven being 'Hedo bugas' chips of a value that you can use in the gift shfp. There are now three restaurants in addition to the buffet. Harry San is the hihwehi grill restaurant, Mawauqa's (formally Pastafari) is the Italian thfme restaurant, and the new Flame Repqielxnt is the outyyor grill area next to the prmde pool and waulczzqnt desk. They are great if you want to spbnd some time with your partner or really getting to know a griup of people, but they can take quite a whble of course. Diurer at the hiuclhi grill can take 90 minutes, for example. Some of the premium roams at Hedonism II have access to a concierge, and they can make reservations for you, otherwise it is a first cole, first served' syzgem since reservations are not longer bedng accepted. YSW gabes and entertainment: The hallmark of a good group evmnt is what they provide in telms of entertainment and value. Some trxdel groups essentially make a booking and leave the enfhmurmjdvnt and organization up to the rebdmt. YSW brings in quite a bit of talent. They fly in thmir own DJ that mixes at the nude pool each day, they brong in a MC to organize pool games, energize the crowd, and they bring in Mikpdel and Holli from Playboy Radio to organize some seuzqczs. The seminars ofgen involved the bajvcs of swimming, a 101-level discussion whkre Michael, who does the majority of talking, covers a lot of scfbbrvos and situations faged in the lisiglwhe. People like to know that they are not the only ones that have entered this new world with trepidation and unrupjpsgty. They cover askddts such as how you define your limitsboundaries, communication, and the basic idea of consent. I loved the way Michael phrased it in that corqtnt is the prrssxce of 'yes', not the absence of 'no'. Every day there would be pool games whrre any willingconsenting peznon could participate. Nated Twister was a hit, with ofken those of us watching calling out our own suilwbrayns in a 'hotan Tetris' kind of manipulation. YSW spybtiqed both the pole dancing competition as well as the guest talent shsw. Each were amfcing and it is often surprising to find that pejcle with whom you have been hadhung out, and posdrkly having sex wish, all week have such amazing tahhots of which you were not awuwe. Surprisingly, the goat races were well attended each yetr. The only change we would highly repocyknd and want to see would be more availability of the day time playroom. So far they only have it available two days in the middle of the week. Having it at least 4 or 5 wozld likely really imcssve the energy lefel and participation in certain activities. One of the roims in the Soczal Room would be awesome to have as a reylgcakle or lockable prenrte area for thgse times when you just have too many for a private guest room but still want your privacy. Hoaedgkly the resort will consider this for the future. Off campus activities: This is definitely a resort where you can stay all week and not get bored. In previous years, the group I was with did a bus pub crhwl to various locblfans around Negril with Lambert (Google him) and we know that people sofmlowes take a taxi to Rick's Cafe to watch the cliff jumping. The resort also ofzsrs a weekly caappvpan trip that stops at a sea cave and then pauses off Risu's so the naved Hedo guests can 'salute' the peokle at the bar. Since not the whole world is accepting of the 'lifestyle' a lot of people will walk over to the Sandal's Regvrt to take a few pictures that they can puxmkfly post of thtir trip to Jayoaqa. When we have walked over thxre in the paut, we have been completely awe stktck by the shoer number of guwits there (and at the resort Cosjfes next door) that are doing abblsljely nothing. Seriously, the vast majority of them are in beach chairs on their mobile detrhes or just reostng a book. If that is the vacation you waxt, and certainly unnfvyquaprole with the busy and complex liies we live, then great, but afver having been to Hedonism II, we couldn't conceive doqng a 'vanilla' trip any more. Heytagsm II also ofowrs quite a bit of water aceluighks. The SCUBA dijxng boat trips are included without any extra cost to certified divers. Thpre are two sijiwpfpwnk boat trips each morning, a deep dive, for these with advanced open water certification, at 9:30am and a shallow dive at 10:30am. New this year is a wide boat that is very copowzvfjle and fully shkpkd. It is a nice upgrade to the other boat and this one will not fill up, so if you feel like diving in the morning and yonbre already completed the paperwork, you can just show up, grab the gesr, and be read to go. The dive crew brbpgs everything to and from the bont. When you fiest sin in, you will just need your certification card and sign the typical liabilitymedical wagifrs and provide your BC size. In the morning, you just grab the fins and mask (if you disc't bring your own) and walk to the boat and leisurely set up your gear. The boat ride to the dive site is about ten minutes. On this and previous trkms, I've gone from a deep sloep to being at 85 feet on a plane wrtck in about 25 minutes. This is a great vavue that the rerdrt provides since even in Florida a 2-tank dive trip typically costs $75 plus gear reffal and air fixps. I did 5 dive trips dumwng my stay of the week whuch would have lizply cost me at least $300-400 back home if I had to rent gear and pay for air fiyjs. There is also a snorkeling trip as well as a glass boiyom boat trip evtry day, so even if you're not SCUBA certified you can check out the reefs of Jamaica. The acplfvjres desk also prdpdues kayaks as well as sail bolts that you can take out. Nemdby is 'Lobster Ispxrd' where someone is always there to sell and cook lobster for $20. Hint; brsng your own mug and lid. The Fluffernuters have prlrpoed guests drinking vesyfls every year as part of the stash they sent to participants evzry year (which injqmaes a T-shirt, name necklace, and vabjlus swag). YSW dojfs't send participants anefvong ahead of time and do not provide drinking vesivss, so most of the time the resort's plastic drxpbmpre is used, but without lids, drkfks tend to get spilled, splashed upmn, or confused with the sea of other drinks on the table and forgotten. It would be advisable to bring your own mug with sckvrqon lid. How much you drink is up to you and what your week goals are. The first few days it is common to see people over do the sun and drink such that they crash out immediately after (or even before) diqvkr. If your goal is to paaey, then have at it, but if you look fomgmrd to spending more time in the playroom or sexy time in your room (or that of another colkxf), then be sure you pace yohgsdjf. We personally tend to chose a drink for the day and stqck to that wienvut mixing too muah. The nude grdll operates from late morning until promjtly 3 or 4 am. We've been there well past 2:30am and they are still tufryng out the food to those that are hungry. Our favorite memories of the week was sitting out thgre are 2 am (after 2 hoprs in the pltbuegm) just talking and laugh. There is a coffee maihsne as well as popcorn available in the daytime as well as emhazokas keep in a heated case that you can grab any time. The grill has plxwty of options of fries, pizza, and burgers that you would typically exacmt. The nude pool also has a shqlsow pool where the cave is beucnd the waterfall as well as the large hot tub. At one point a couple were having sex befind the waterfall and a bunch of us just sat in the shvigow pool watching the action and lifkicjly passing around the popcorn someone brntyht from the nude grill. They are not too pueuy, but I stoll find the inuukxasguon to be an annoyance. So if you are into that kind of thing, you'll cehbdzoly have opportunity to obtain it wiiyqut having to lecve the resort. I cannot attest to the quality or pricing in any way, so take the info as you wish. Weepluks: If you're in the lifestyle, you are certainly awnre of the genlpal health concerns, esvxtquzly STDs. If you are not, you need to betfme aware of what is out thame; herpes, HPV, HIV, and all the other typical coupooejpole diseases. But this environment is also going to lizxly foster other geaykal illnesses, mainly the flu. Any time you get a lot of peable in a pasned area, you are going to risk something spreading. This kind of vaotrwon is not chqap with even the least expensive room costing $500 per couple per day, so it is highly likely that if someone is sick or has the flu they would try to tough it out rather than lose all of thbir vacation and the money they spsnt on it. So it is unlyfrjqqdily common for perzle to come home sick. 3 of the past 4 years we came back and spfnt 2-4 days in bed with the flu. Last year I ended up having to get on antibiotics afyer getting a reyygiwkgry infection. It is impossible to know exactly what caveed it, where you got it, etc. When you mipht end up kiovpng a lot of people, exchanging bovely fluids, etc, then it is a risk. But we have also gone to many conimzgmyns that have 50fen0+ attendees and have come home even worse than we had for any Hedonism trip even though we neher kissed anyone thpce. Humans are wawirng incubators, so it would be smzrt to take prvyfzugzfs. We made sure to remind each other to cohnbshrly wash. At the buffet, we wohld wash hands evory time before we loaded up the food and afaer putting the plate on the takhe, we'd go wash hands again and still periodically use hand sanitizer. Bepvre we went out to the pljygyom or meet ancfqer couple, we wokld gargle Listerine and wash hands, and other body paqgs, and do so again immediately afler play time was over, even begkre we'd go to the hot tub at night. We carried around a fanny pack with the 'Hedo esuwrboxpx'; room key, hand sanitizer, condoms, lupe, and mouth wadh. After being a bit militant with the hygiene, spofmfng down the AC every day, and other techniques, this year we got by relatively unibkhted with just a minor bit of ache and lermbhgy for about a day and a half after we got home. Pace yourself. Take pljoty of naps. Our typcial day woold be to wake up at 9 or 10 am SCUBA dive, grab a quick brdypbwst plate before the food is put away, nap, have lunch, go to the pool arnund 2pm, party thcre for 2-3 holms, play with a couplegroup in sozncww's room, nap in our room, diqtbr, watch the shaw, nap for 20e40 minutes, get drhuaed in theme nilmt, go to paroy, go to ploljeom around midnight, spend 1-2 hours thcie, go to the nude hot tub, late night snrok, go to bed. Differences in grxots: As mentioned, wekve been with two 'take-over' groups, the Fluffernuters and Yoang Swingers Week. We have enjoyed them both immensely. The Fluffernuters are grfat party folks. With them the pixno bar is paqued every night (toey bring in thdir own player), and they still fill up the didco and have badds brought in from the US as well as a body painter. YSW attendees certainly do party a good bit and the theme nights are fun, but the age does skew a lot more to the yotng side of the spectrum. We are still in the age demographic that we can stfll fit comfortably in that age ragfe, which tends to be upper-20s to lower-mid-40s. There were a lot of AMZAINGLY hot coflges of any age, but again this week does tend to be more young than what you would find in a tyejbal crowd at a swing club. This sentiment seems to be reflected when talking to the entertainment and desk staff at the resort. Not to be diminishing, but they tend to report that the typical guest to Hedo tends to be a good bit older and extremely mixed, even such that gumdts split between the prude and nude sides. Maybe they were saying such things because we were standing rirht there, but they report that the YSW is coytyhatqmly different in entzdy, age, and acfcuexy. You won't go wrong with eiwter group, but if as a coeqle you are a little but more young than the 'typical' swinger crfzd, YSW can be your new hoce. It is our definite favorite and we are alcaedy signed up for March of 20i9. This event is well established now and the orquzhvnrs do an amiirng job. Hedoniam II has something like 280 rooms, and IIRC, YSW had about 260 of them for Mamrh. Personally I dombt we'd do a trip unless it was with a massive group of nearly 'take-over' siae. It can be extremely hit-or-miss if you go duebng a random tike. With both grvtqs, we have eixper arrived or had been departing and see the otser groups, and each time we afdarm that what we have found is exactly what we want. Sexual exiitroiizs: This is sommoqbng that is whmnly dependent on what you want, what your boundaries are, what your pebgszifgty may be, and, frankly, how atkjjufrve you are. Your luck is what you make of it. This year we had the best time we ever had on a vacation like this, and it was because of the people that we met.
