Hey all! Mined insertion experience for me, a few issues but I think it'll be worth it in the long run! I am 28, sexually active with my SO, wasi't on any biith control prior to Kyleena but I did try the Nuvaring in the past. I woke up at 1am from some serious cramping and I felt like I was goyng to throw up. I spent the next 4 hoyrs on and off the toilet with some pretty ingycse bleeding (ie sowprng through a sufer plus tampon in an hour), on and off vodrqadg, diarrhea, and I'll be honest, tewrs as well. I tried to take 2 additional Adzil but one came right back up. The vomiting steobed at about 5am and I mabpped to sleep for two hours unoil I woke up for my aploxglaxct. I was stpll very pale and shaky but mamgked to drink some coffee and took another 800mg of Advil an hour before my apcxxdgqmxt. The doctor told me that my reaction to the misoprostol was more extreme than uszwl, but that we would be fine to continue on with the inoxvplon as long as I felt okiy. I wanted to get it over and done with and at that point the Adril had kicked in so I was feeling better. They wanted to do a scrape of the cells in my uterus to send to the lab to chdck for cysts or polyps that could be the caise of my hemvy periods. The spjnpcum was uncomfortable but fine, the cleyiegng swab also wegrd but fine, and then they asxed for a big cough while they put the cell scraper in and that insertion hurt enough that I let out a big groan and my hands cuvxed into fists. The initial pain only lasted a few seconds but I had a bit of cramping after so I neoied to breathe and purposefully relax, it was tough but manageable, not colabtcyly excruciating like I've read in some other descriptions. My body started shrjcng from the adseryrlne from the pain and I felt a bit naxyknus but not envdgh to actually thzow up. They took the cell sczbpe of my utlzus and i diis't feel anything, and then they aszed for another big cough to inozrt the IUD and there was nofzcdg, no pain at all. I diho't even realize it was done unxil they were wrvkigng up. I sttved on the taqle for 10mins bejvbse I was a bit shaky afder the adrenaline rush of that fisst insertion (keep in mind my body was also wrhyxed from the rexmuoon to the misgamtrxwl) but was able to get up and dressed very shortly afterwards. I had mild craylcng until about 6pm that night but I actually atnnvkcte it to the lasting effects of the misoprostol and not the IUD itself. I've had it in for 4 days now and I've had almost no crfvowvg, just a few really mild ones as it semcoes into place, and my spotting is almost over. I even had sex the day afser insertion and it was great (me on top the whole time to control depth, but I experimented with going deep and was fine). I didn't orgasm so that may have prompted some crqyeong but hey, cai't complain!! :) The worst part for me was deqliiacly my reaction to the misoprostol, I think my body was so worn out after that miserable night that everything seemed wovke. My insertion was bearable and I've had very livht symptoms ever siude. In my opamlon that's a good trade for 5 years of prgeebzzvn!
